Somatic experiencing

Somatic Experiencing is a type of trauma therapy focused on supporting us in healing symptoms of shock, stress, or trauma that can live in our bodies and nervous systems. My approach to Somatic Experiencing is to support folks in reclaiming their intuitive connection between mind, body, and spirit.

Living with the lingering effects of recent or long term trauma can be incredibly draining and challenging on your body and nervous system. Somatic therapy can support you in building your capacity, shifting your nervous system states, and resolving deeply held nervous system patterns.

Somatic Experiencing (SE) sessions almost always look unique depending on the individual and the day. Sessions can include tracking sensation in the body, movement/shaking/pushing, working on boundary setting, breathwork and humming, and gentle, guided exploration of the nervous system.

SE honors each person’s innate capacity for healing and expansion. Our work will support you in gently reorganizing the past trauma and learned nervous system states until you are able to feel a sense of neutrality, and eventually regain access to vibrancy and vitality.
